Wa Naa has recently appealed to President Akufo-Addo to fulfil the promise he made to the Wa Municipality. Naa Fuseini Pelpuo IV, the overlord of the Wala Traditional Area, is taking significant steps to address local issues. He urged the president to fulfil his promise regarding the rehabilitation of the Wa-Bole-Bamboi highway before the end of his tenure.
This road is vital for the community’s development. Without it, residents struggle to access essential services. Therefore, improving this infrastructure is crucial for their day-to-day lives. Furthermore, he went on to recommend Akufo-Addo’s government for fixing some of the major roads within the traditional area. This appeal was made during the Dumba Festival.
The Minister of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Mr. Stephen Asamoah Boateng assured the chief and the people. He said their concerns would be sent to the president and the necessary actions would be taken. Furthermore, he said the contract has been awarded and work will soon commence on the contraction of the Wa-Bole-Bamboi highway.
In addition to this appeal, Naa Fuseini Pelpuo IV expressed gratitude towards MTN Ghana. He acknowledged their ongoing support for the Wala Traditional Council.
