Day 1: Democracy Hub Protestors Burns NPP Campaign Materials

In the early hours of Saturday, the members of the Democracy Hub launched a protest aimed at expressing their dissatisfaction with the government. The protest started at the Liberation Road roundabout. Despite facing resistance from the Ghana Police Service, the protestors continued their 3-day demonstration.

In anticipation of the protest, the police mounted roadblocks from the 37 Military Hospital to the Jubilee House. However, the determined participants were undeterred, fueled by a collective sense of urgency to address their grievances. Hundreds of passionate members of the Democracy Hub came together with a shared mission: to raise awareness about critical issues such as illegal mining, environmental degradation, and social inequality. Protestors were seen with eye-catching banners and placards chanting with determination and hope.

Throughout the protest, demonstrators took decisive actions to underline their message. They were burning campaign materials associated with the governing NPP (New Patriotic Party) in the middle of the road. Furthermore, they made a strong statement against officials they believe are complicit in illegal mining practices.
